Allison Blosfield from Lake Stevens, Washington, and her husband, Eric, went through an experience that no parent should have to go through. It started early in her pregnancy. Doctors shared with them that their baby had Down syndrome. They later found out baby Ethan had a heart defect. For 35 weeks, Allison was given many chances to terminate the pregnancy. She said no every time, even though the chances of Ethan surviving were slim.  Allison shared her story with Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall.

A 318-year-old book has sparked a mystery in Iowa. Kathy Magruder found a leather-bound Bible in the back of a retirement home library. This book was the King James version of the Christian Bible printed in Scotland in 1705. Through death and marriage records handwritten into the Bible, Magruder was able to trace the family who originally owned it. Magruder’s next mystery to solve is how the 318-year-old Bible made its way from Scotland to Iowa.

Firefighters crawled on their hands and knees across thin ice to perform a delicate rescue. Neighbors noticed a deer stranded on top of Pike Lake in Minnesota and called authorities. A team arrived and formulated an unusual plan to assist the struggling buck. Instead of sliding a stone across an ice rink, the firefighters used instruments to slide the deer across the ice and onto the shore towards safety. He may have been frightened, but the buck was not hurt.
