This video captures the moment Iran launched a rocket ‘carrying animals’ into space. But what animals were on board? 

The ’Salman’ capsule is a step towards sending humans into orbit.

It successfully travelled to a height of 80 miles, according to Iran’s Telecommunications Minister.

It is unclear what animals were inside the 450kg rocket this time.

But Iran has sent multiple animals into space before, including rats, turtles and worms.

The most famous passenger on an Iranian rocket was this monkey.
It was the second monkey Iran sent to space and safely returned in 2013.

The first one didn’t survive… 

As Iran gets closer to human spaceflight, western countries are worried that the same technology could be used for developing long-range weapons.

Admitted to the College of the Holy Cross during a period of increased Black student enrollment through affirmative action Supreme Court, Thomas underwent a profound transformation. He immersed himself in activism, adopting the attire of the Black Panthers, engaging in protests, and advocating for social justice causes.

His transition to the right began at Yale Law School, where he befriended future Trump advisors John Bolton. Post-graduation, Thomas aligned himself with conservative figures, ultimately switching his party affiliation to Republican and voting for Reagan.

His trajectory further ascended when he caught the attention of the Reagan administration, leading to key positions, including running the Equal Employment Opportunity Program Commission. George H.W. Bush nominated Thomas to succeed Thurgood Marshall amidst controversy due to Anita Hill testimony of sexual harassment. Despite Hill's detailed accusations, Thomas was confirmed in a Democrat-controlled Senate.

Thomas' tenure as justice chipped away at pivotal legislation, overturned landmark rulings, and advocated for the curtailment of fundamental rights, including impacting affirmative action policies. Furthermore, his acceptance of lavish undisclosed gifts from influential acquaintances has added to the contentiousness surrounding his influence.

The IDF say they are now encircling Khan Younis - Gaza’s second largest city.

Israeli troops can be seen in combat with Palestinian militants as they push further into southern Gaza.

Intense bombardment of the region has now displaced tens of thousands of Palestinians.

New evacuation orders have left many with nowhere to go.

It’s worsened the already dire humanitarian conditions in the besieged territory.

Humanitarian groups say they are struggling to provide food, water and medicine to those in need. 

On Tuesday, Israel’s Prime Minister declared that the strip must be demilitarised.

Netanyahu also delivered a scathing attack on human rights groups.

 He criticised their inaction over the alleged sexual violence committed against Jewish women since October 7th. 

Evidence of alleged sexual violence is meanwhile still being collected by authorities.

It comes as Gaza’s Health Ministry says more than 16,200 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the war.

Israel's Military Push into Southern Gaza Creates 'Hellish Scenario'.

New footage has been released by Israel's military showing its troops operating in Gaza. 

The IDF are pushing deeper south into the Gaza Strip after leaving much of the north in ruins. 

Satellite images show tanks and troops massed outside Khan Younis, Gaza’s second largest city.

The IDF have now ordered the evacuation of nearly two dozen neighbourhoods as they intensify their bombardment of the region.

But with hundreds of thousands of people already crowded into UN shelters and family homes, there are few places to go.

At the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, ambulances brought wounded people in throughout the night.

“Where is the Red Cross? … where is the United Nations?,” a woman screams outside the emergency department.

Almost 16,000 Palestinians have been killed during the war according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

They also claim that 70% of the victims are women and children.

A further 42,000 are said to be injured, though the ministry does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.  

Meanwhile, Israel claims it only targets Hamas operatives and infrastructure. 

It blames civilian casualties on militants, accusing them of operating in residential neighbourhoods.

The United States, Qatar and Egypt say they are still working towards a permanent ceasefire deal.

Trump Said You Can Expect Him to Act Like a Dictator Only On Day 1 If Re-Elected

This is the moment when Kate Cox heard from a judge that she would be allowed to get a potentially life-saving abortion in the state of Texas. 

After the ruling, attorney Molly Duane from the Center for Reproductive Rights spoke to the press via a video call. She said, ‘Abortion is health care. This case proves that abortion is essential, life-saving health care. And the judge recognized that immediately.’ 

The Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit on behalf of Cox, a 31-year-old woman who is 20 weeks pregnant. Cox, a mother of two hoping for a third child, experienced severe complications during her current pregnancy. She's been to the emergency room four times in the last month due to extreme cramping, fluid loss, and other symptoms, according to Duane. The fetus was diagnosed with trisomy 18, or Edwards syndrome, a condition with an extremely low survival rate. 

On December 7, Travis County District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble issued a temporary restraining order against the state of Texas and its medical board. This move will allow Cox to proceed with an abortion, albeit under the state’s incredibly limited medical exceptions. 

This is believed to be the first known case where a court has been asked to sanction an immediate abortion since the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
