This video captures the moment Iran launched a rocket ‘carrying animals’ into space. But what animals were on board? 

The ’Salman’ capsule is a step towards sending humans into orbit.

It successfully travelled to a height of 80 miles, according to Iran’s Telecommunications Minister.

It is unclear what animals were inside the 450kg rocket this time.

But Iran has sent multiple animals into space before, including rats, turtles and worms.

The most famous passenger on an Iranian rocket was this monkey.
It was the second monkey Iran sent to space and safely returned in 2013.

The first one didn’t survive… 

As Iran gets closer to human spaceflight, western countries are worried that the same technology could be used for developing long-range weapons.

Vladimir Putin Announces Run For Reelection in 2024

Thousands of people lined the streets of Dublin, Ireland, to bid farewell to The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan on Friday. The singer died on 30 November, aged 65. 

MacGowan combined elements of punk rock with traditional Irish music to create his own unique folk music sound. Many gave their own musical tributes to the folk icon.

After giving the people of Dublin a chance to say goodbye, the procession travelled to Nenagh, County Tipperary for a star-studded funeral attended by Irish President Michael D. Higgins and Johnny Depp among many others.

Humanitarian groups say they are struggling to provide food, water and medicine to those in need. 

On Tuesday, Israel’s Prime Minister declared that the strip must be demilitarised.

Netanyahu also delivered a scathing attack on human rights groups.

 He criticised their inaction over the alleged sexual violence committed against Jewish women since October 7th. 

Evidence of alleged sexual violence is meanwhile still being collected by authorities.

It comes as Gaza’s Health Ministry says more than 16,200 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the war.

Trump Said You Can Expect Him to Act Like a Dictator Only On Day 1 If Re-Elected

This is the moment when Kate Cox heard from a judge that she would be allowed to get a potentially life-saving abortion in the state of Texas. 

After the ruling, attorney Molly Duane from the Center for Reproductive Rights spoke to the press via a video call. She said, ‘Abortion is health care. This case proves that abortion is essential, life-saving health care. And the judge recognized that immediately.’ 

The Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit on behalf of Cox, a 31-year-old woman who is 20 weeks pregnant. Cox, a mother of two hoping for a third child, experienced severe complications during her current pregnancy. She's been to the emergency room four times in the last month due to extreme cramping, fluid loss, and other symptoms, according to Duane. The fetus was diagnosed with trisomy 18, or Edwards syndrome, a condition with an extremely low survival rate. 

On December 7, Travis County District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble issued a temporary restraining order against the state of Texas and its medical board. This move will allow Cox to proceed with an abortion, albeit under the state’s incredibly limited medical exceptions. 

This is believed to be the first known case where a court has been asked to sanction an immediate abortion since the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
