Making free Thanksgiving meals for veterans

A rise in viral illnesses recently prompted Children's Wisconsin to tighten its visitor policy.

Over the last week, Children's Wisconsin reported an average of 10 hospitalizations per day for patients who test positive for RSV.

"The point is to protect our patients and others who are in our hospital and our clinic settings as well," the president of Children's Medical Group Dr. Michael Gutzeit explained.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports since November 1st there have been 49 RSV-associated hospitalizations, 75 percent of those patients were under 5 years old.

Thankfully, no RSV-associated deaths have been reported.

RSV steadily rising, pediatric RSV injection in short supply

A Milwaukee mother is facing more than 30 years in prison after her infant child died of an apparent drug overdose, according to a criminal complaint.

29-year-old Kiara Hopson was charged last week with four counts of neglecting a child as a party to a crime. Prosecutors say Hopson's 10-month-old child died "due to acute drug intoxication." The infant's blood tested positive for morphine and fentanyl, among other substances.

According to the complaint, the infant became unresponsive on the evening of October 25th, while Hopson was out buying food for her family. Hopson's 12-year-old child called 911, but the infant was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives found digital scales that were covered in a white powdery substance inside the home. Testing later revealed that substance contained fentanyl, the complaint says.

Packers' surge raises playoff contention hopes

Despite the short turnaround and several starters out with injuries, the Green Bay Packers feasted on Thanksgiving with a 29-22 upset over the Detroit Lions. Ashley Washburn tells us more.

November 21 is a day filled with emotions for Jan Kwiatkowski as it marks another year since the Waukesha Christmas parade tragedy.

Six people were killed in 2021 when Darrell Brooks drove an SUV through the parade route.

Four of the victims were part of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies family. Kwiatkowski is the president and a co-leader of the group.

"It feels very far away, and at the same time like it just happened," Kwiatkowski stated. "It's just hitting us differently, and I can't explain that too much."

Two years Kwiatkowski said the group continues to honor them.

Dancing Grannies reflect 2 years after Waukesha Christmas parade tragedy

TMJ4 has obtained new body camera and dash-camera footage of Wednesday's dramatic police chase, which ended with a suspect trapped in a porta potty.

It started just before noon on Wednesday on Port Washington Road.

Video shows Glendale police officers trying to stop the driver of a stolen white Dodge Durango. One officer is seen attempting to throw stopsticks as the Durango approaches.

As he does, the driver swerves, hits two cars, and darts toward oncoming traffic on I-43. The Durango hit the highway's barrier and all four people in the car ran.

Police were able to detain one suspect right away while the others started a full-blown police pursuit across the highway.

Porta potty arrest: Police video shows chase, arrest

Kenosha’s Nicole Rios is a proud mom who carries a cutout photo of her daughter wherever she goes.

Kiara Rios is a 2022 Reuther High School graduate who overcame tall obstacles – like many students at the alternative high school – to graduate with honors.

“She started at Tremper (High School) and a family crisis occurred,” Nicole Rios said. “(Kiara’s) anxiety and mental health declined.”

During her sophomore year, Kiara transferred to Reuther. She thrived in a more intimate environment with an opportunity to receive 1-on-1 interaction with teachers and support staff.

“My first day at Reuther was everything I needed to know that I could succeed there,” Kiara said.

High school in jeopardy of closing due to district's rightsizing plan

Badger High School in Lake Geneva headed to Madison Friday to play in its first-ever championship game against Waunakee. They walked away as state champions.

Badger High defeated Waunakee at Camp Randall Stadium during the WIAA Division 2 state championship football game.

Lake Geneva celebrates Badgers High first championship win

The Watertown Police Department responded to a two-car head-on crash in the southbound lane of the South Trunk Highway 26 bypass north of South Trunk Highway 19.

One of the vehicles was traveling the wrong way and collided with the other vehicle leaving both drivers dead on the scene. The two passengers from one car were injured and there were no additional occupants in the other.

Those injured were transported to the Aurora Summit Hospital to treat their injuries.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

Over the next several days, millions of Americans will be taking advantage of online deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

"Companies and retailers are putting out their heads up emails, those Black Friday deals or even extending those deals earlier on," cybersecurity expert Bryan Sevener said.

While you're on the move to find a good deal this holiday season, so are cybercriminals.

"Right now, it's predominantly targeted at getting access to your personally identifiable information and any online accounts you may have access to, getting your credit card information," Sevener explained.

Sevener is the president of ValorTechnologies, a Milwaukee-based cybersecurity company.

His team predicts even more consumers will be targeted this year.

How to protect yourself online shopping for Black Friday, Cyber Monday

Dollar General has agreed to pay more than $800,000 for alleged violations of overcharging customers, according to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP).

For many Milwaukeeans, Dollar General is a matter of convenience.

"I go to Dollar General almost every day since it's right next door to the building. It's real convenient," frequent Dollar General shopper, Felicia Shoates, said.

It's a cheaper option, typically in low-income areas across our state. But recently, several customers said they noticed changes at some Dollar Generals.

"I'm kind of frugal in a way, I make my dollar holler, and their prices are always different," customer Vanessa Dodd said.
